Still can't see the pics. I used to be able to see them. I am using the same computer, same net connection etc. Nothing has changed (i.e. reinstall of windows). So something happened, maybe a windows update changed a setting? I've tried looking on firefox, but same thing as I.E. Thanks for the help.

Spooky, I don't have a problem either at work or home pc. I know this doesn't help much ( ) but sounds like a specific problem for you rather than a general one. :? :D

it tells me your browser can see the photos. Perhaps clear out the browser cache.

cheers

Perhaps your forum settings have changed? Have a look at the "profile" link near the top of the page, and make sure "always allow html" etc are on.

Great suggestion, but that didn't work either :( I even tried changing it to see if that worked. Nada. I am going to clear my IE cache again and try a reboot. I'll see if that works.

Glad you noticed that

The Nikon D300 has the option of creating your own picture controls depending on the situation, so I have a variety of them set up for different situations. I like some of the effects of the high saturation and vivid colours, so have a particular picture control that allows for Vivid Colours and +3 Saturation. Sometimes it works...other times it doesn't, but that's the joy of digital photography...you don't waste too much film on experimentation!

The photo of the church in Kursk was taken with the Vivid settings cranked all the way up so that allowed the blues and the gold to contrast well with the grey straight from the camera. This is an effect I could have also created from photoshop, but saved time using this picture control.

I would say that my style tends to stray toward more vivid colours with higher saturation.

I've been travelling a bit lately, and have some pics from Vladimir, Suzdal, Smolensk and St.Pete to put up, so plenty more to come.

Cheers,

I'm looking forward to more pictures, this thread is a gem. BTW I don't mind the saturated colours. Keep those pics coming!

On the topic of Moscow, has anyone played the battle scenario for BII? I made 2 unsuccessful attempts to get a game of it started but my opponents never returned my first turns or my emails. Is it a bad scenario or something? I did the first turn and it seemed alright so far although it took me over 2 hours maybe even 3 cause I didn't do it all in one sitting.

Typhoon is a great game. But it looses its luster because its one of those battles where one side attacks and the other is really to weak to do anything else than run away. Sea Lion..
There is another version..."On to Moscow" that frees up German movement and some discussion on it in the BII thread.
This thread is Doggy's pictorial record of his time in Russia...
