TO THE COMMANDER OF II Panzer Korps (Gen Alexandra):

Our General Staff have evaluated the outcome of your first wave of attacks and is very pleased with the results. Despite the muddy terrain, your units destroyed 3 forts, weakened 3 forts and destroyed 1 AT unit in the soviet rearguard.

Congratulations!

TO THE COMMANDER OF XXXXVIII Panzer Korps (Ian Kommander):

Now you must start your attack. Your inmediate objective is to destroy the forts
in front of you in order to open good lanes for your motorized units.

After that, you have to direct your forces towards Cherkasskoye and Rakitnoye.

The supports assets provided for your attack are:
- 1 Dive bombers attacks
- 1 Medium bomber attack
- 1 special attack

Again if you have objections, suggestions or issues that have to be considered please post
it in this thread.

If not you have to complete your turn and send it to me as I'm commanding the right flank.

Good luck!

PD: I'll send to you the file by email, because there are limitations with the space in this forum.

We thank the honourable Commander for his kind words, yet the II SS Panzer feel a little better could have been achieved with the available fire power and support units detailed to this attack. We will not in future show compassion or respect to the Bolshevik's.

Briefings for Regimental Commanders was held this lunch time. A re-appraisal of our initial objectives and the time-scales for us to achieve them was carried out.

Item 1: Objectives from turn 3 thro 6 and local intelligence map.
Image

Our local 5th Element operatives have identified unknown unit formations along the route to Objective A, for this unforeseen circumstance will shall commit a Battalion of the initial reserve into the front line.

One note of caution in this appraisal is that our "Defensive" supply is still one turn away from being able to cover all units needs. Our attack supply remains constant.

TO FIELD MARSHALL ERICH VON MANSTEIN

MORNING 5 JULY 1943, 6am-10am ACTION REPORT

All division commanders report heavy enemy fortified positions on front line.

Image

General Walther Horlien of GroBdeutschland PzGren Division reports some success. The Fusilier Regt from his division assaulted a fortified position held by a battalion of 100 Tank Brigade and a company of 1244 Anti Tank Regiment and managed to destroy both enemy units.

Also the 105 Hummel artillery company destroyed an enemy 76mm Cannon company of 11 Motor Rifle Brigade. Artillery fire was also used against 1450 SU Regiment with some damage caused.

Image

IMPORTANT: Aufklar companies report that they can spot enemy artillery cannons at long distances due to the open terrain. It may be advisable to bring Aufklar companies closer to the front line and just behind our assault units to spot the enemy artillery. That way we may be able to use counter barrage fire from our own artillery guns against them.

TO THE COMMANDER OF XXXXVIII Pz Korps and LII Infantry Korps:

Thanks for the report. Excellent work destroying those enemy units.

Unfortunately the GroBdeutschland division took serious casualties.
My 19 Pz division also had the same fate.

I'm eager to see how our new weapons (panthers) behave against the old T-34s.

Keep the good work!

TO ALL COMMANDERS:

File sent to the russians.

Oh %$#@, that is potentially a very dangerous situation for us. Especially on the right flank as the Russians have large reserve concentrated there.
The advantage is that you recognized this tread quickly. If I may, I would like to make a suggestion to counter their thread.

I am unsure however of how secure our lines of communications are given the Russian “spy network”.

What do you suggest? Must I send you a private message?

TO FIELD MARSHALL ERICH VON MANSTEIN

MID DAY 5 JULY 1943, 10am-2pm ACTION REPORT

All division commanders report heavy enemy fortified positions on front line. Some fortified positions were destroyed. The Russian are now filling the gaps with reinforcements brought down from further north.

Note from battalion commanders dairy: “Our artillery and Stuka dive bombers has been pounding the Russians all morning. I wonder how any man can live through such hellish fire from the skies. It’s been about three years that I have been in Russia, and still there is no end in sight. Will I ever make it back to the Father land?”

GENERAL STAFF TO THE COMMANDER OF II Panzer Korps (Gen Alexandra):

Your attack is developing according to our plans.

You are widening the gap into the main soviet defensive zone and soon we'll have better conditions to continue our attack.

The enemy minefields are almost depleted and will be cleared soon.

After that, and when the terrain conditions improve we expect to achieve a victory here.

Please remember that you have an infantry replacement that could be used later.

Image

TO THE COMMANDER OF XXXXVIII Panzer Korps (Ian Kommander):

I'm sending to you the file to continue the attack in the left flank.
