When people join the ladder they have zero points
We begin with the old game: TAO2.
An overwhelming loss = 1 point
A decisive loss = 2 points
A marginal loss = 3 points
A draw with a points loss = 4 points
A draw with a points victory = 5 points
A marginal victory = 6 points
A decisive victory = 7 points
An overwhelming victory = 8 points
Where a scenario is 12 turns or less the above points apply
Where a scenario is 13 turns to 24 turns the above points are multiplied by 2.
Where a scenario is 25 turns to 36 turns the above points are multiplied by 3
Where the scenario is greater than 36 turns the above points are multiplied by 4
Korsun Pocket: Take the TAO2 numbers and multiply by 2
Battles in Normandy: Take the TAO2 numbers and multiply by3
Battles in Italy: Take the TAO2 numbers and multiply by 4
Battlefront: Take the TAO2 numbers and multiply by 5
Kharkov: Take the TAO2 numbers and multiply by 6
If you are playing somebody above you on the ladder, get the final figure and multiply by 2.
This creates certain incentives:
To play the latest game in the series
To play the scenario to the very and fight for every victory point
To play somebody above you on the ladder
To play the longer scenarios.
Further, suggest SSG give a prize every 6 months to the most improved – not necessarily the bloke actually on top of the ladder.
If every result is recorded down to the exact point, this will help SSG to balance future games.
Also, if somebody lost interest in ladder games, he would slowly fall down the ladder out of sight.
