MSMAPI32.OCX. Problem when O/S upgraded from XP to Vista

Postby schlarper » Thu Aug 30, 2007 3:58 pm

I've upgraded my operating system from XP to Vista home premium, and after this when I play BII by email, after hitting the red button to send the turn away I get a error dialog box entitled "Project 1" saying that

"Component MSMAPI.OCX or one of its dependences not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid".

I have updated Vista with all the latest patches, and reinstalled BII and patched it with v1.02, all to no avail.

This error looks as though it relates to opening the email program (Thunderbird) but it doesn't make it that far. I have not changed my email program as everything was working fine under XP.

Does anyone have any more ideas in how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Many programs (apart from games) still have little problems with Vista ... If you suspect it's Thunderbird, try another mail client to see if you have a different result.
Sadly, if it works on XP, you have no guarantee it will fully work on Vista (though usually most problems are annoying and there's a way around, if you have the time to search for a solution)
