Board Game conversion

Postby Ian » Thu Jul 31, 2008 5:06 pm

Hi to all

I have been playing around with a traditional board game feel for a scenario. This is based on GMT Games version of the Battle of Soltsy. I wanted to see if it’s possible to get a scan of the map board in the game and what it would look like. Also I wanted to get the look of the units to that of the board game style. So this is what it looks like at the moment.

I was wondering if anybody would be interested in playing this type of design. Also I will attempt to add the AI with the help of the guys from SSG.

Feel free to let me know what you think.

Till later

Ian,

I think the response 'hell yeah!' might be appropriate here.

Looks great!

I also like the look of the old boardgames, so anything that replicates that is a winner for me!

Cheers

I hate to be the odd man out - I prefer the SSG artwork on the maps and on the counters.

Hi Visco

Check out this tread, I posted a pdf document that explains how to make maps and get it in the game so you can see it.

No Problem on the Map side of things.....

But I am with Joe on the SSG counters, I much prefer them than these ones.

Hi Guys

Here is Battle for Soltsy beta release. The scenario includes the AI for both sides. It’s a small quick play battle. It’s a zip file, so all you need to do is extract the contents to Kharkov/Scenarios and you ready to go.

Let me know what you think.

Till later

Here is the direct download link.

I would suggest copying the folder in the zip file to the Scenarios folder instead of extracting the folder.
