Postby falco » Sun May 03, 2009 3:13 am

Anybody know when (if?) Kharkov is going to be added to the SSG PBEM ladder?

the only person who I know could add in extra scens to the ladder is not answering emails (pterrok) so we might need a new volunteer. I don't know anything about databases unfortuntately.

cheers

Did see this and then got side tracked.

I might be able to help out, from memory of discussions before the database is in MySQL, which i don't work with, but do work with MS SQL server to some extent and they are similar. As regards the actual work it should be just a question of adding new lines to the various tables that are already there to add in a new scenario so not a major piece of work.

Drop me a PM or email if you want to discuss this further.

Has there been any progress on this? I'd offer my own services if I knew anything about computers, but what I know could be written basically on the back of a postage stamp.

Sure would be good to record my Kharkov wins/defeats etc for posterity.

Hello?...is anybody out there??....anyone??? (he shouts into the huge black hole empty void called the SSG Kharkov website).

Well, there's a ladder over at the Blitzkrieg Wargaming club, The Classic Wargames Ladder, where the DBWII games are included. Why not use that ladder? (I do).

Ermm....because its not listed on the Blitz CW ladder either actually. Take a look for yourself if u dont believe me.

Hardly good advertising for it to be not included there, not to mention being missing from the ladder here on the homepage of the very company that makes the product.

Kharkov

Ah .. isn't it? OK, I could mail the ladder guy and ask him to include it. They're usually quite good at responding.
If all of us Run5'ers moved to that ladder, it would spark some more life into the Classic Wargames Ladder on the otherwise very Busy Blitz Club.

Sure would be good to have at least one ladder somewhere that supports Kharkov, that for sure.
