Operation Nordwind for play-testing (H2H only)

Got an interesting idea about a new scenario design? ...or maybe you just need some help with the Scenario Editor; this is the place!

If you do exactly this as I said, then it goes into the right place :)

Thanks Mr Cruft.

About time a new scenario was released for BF. Ive had no reason to play it since the Market Garden Tournament.

Ive had a go for the first few turns and it looks great! Thanks for your effort!

New Version

I have made a new version following player comments, a bit of research and (mostly) my own musings :)

Download link:

http://mattybuoy.net/Nordwind-1-1.zip

NOTE: If you have the previous version installed this will over-write it so do not install if you have a game in progress!

Main Changes

The 21st Pz and 25th PzG now arrive automatically (about half-way through) rather than having to be activated.
The German "Hitler Directive" special attack has gone and been replaced by some limited air strikes courtesy of Operation Bodenplatte. To counter-balance the US gets quite a lot of air in the second half.

Hopefully this will make it a bit more interesting and worth playing beyond the first 10 turns.

The new version improves the balance and the timing of operation.

The withdrawal of the "Fuhrer" Attack bonus is especially a good choice both historically and in terms of play: before as german player you score huge amount of hit on your opponent anywhere you want so he was encouraged to retreat without a fight; now as german you must decide where to use your air support and to realistically concentrate enough (or effective in attack) troops to gain terrain.

Good job.
It's just bullshit !

Thanks :)

The only reason I used the special attack in the first place was because I couldn't get the air strikes to work. Thankfully I achieved enlightenment (with some help) and so it is now how I actually wanted it to be.

I would be interested to hear about any games that have made it all the way through to the end.
