Map Creation

Postby Gen Alexandra » Wed Jul 18, 2007 8:17 pm

Ok then complete nOOB question on Map Creations.

I have an External Image from Google Earth (thanks Rob) which I need now to turn into a Map.

I ahve available Photoshop or Paint Pro, but have no idea how to turn this Google Earth Image into a map used in Battlefront.

Anyone give me a run down on what to do and how to achieve it ?

Well ask and you shall receive!

Any type of map image can be used as the base for developing the bigmap.bmp... photoshop seems to be the favorite of the master map makers.

If I understand the process correctly you add BF terrain to the map a layer at a time. Add in roads and rivers once the terrain is complete. Sounds easy right ?

Second part of the map is building terrain, CRT, and road/river values in the editor. You have to assign each hex a terrain type (holding cntr key while moving your mouse makes this much more efficient) as well.
