Well done guys to get to the final ! Its nice to see some new faces at the top of the pile (unless of course I was there which would be undoubtably have been better). It has been a great scenario for a tournament; I would like to see more this size/pace.

I wonder if either Aberdeen or Fantassin feel like posting a few comments here about your thoughts on the scenario, the balance, the preferable side to play, the experiences vs other players to get the the grand final etc.

We'll be watching closely for updates on your game.

Thanks Brubaker.
I feel that this scenario is very well balanced. The tournament's stat reflect that with a good balance of axis and allies victories (respectively 7/9 in round 1, 4/4 in round 2, 1/3 in round 3 ans 1/1 in finals). Both sides need to conduct offensive and defensive operations and players have to master these two aspects to expect winning.

Aberdeen and me will both play the same side as in finals so he may have a slight advantage as he played 3 times the Allies and me 2 times the Axis to get in this Grand Final. But I personally feel more confortable playing the axis.

As I won't be able to play from 08/10 to 09/03 (see my profile's comment), I wonder if we should start this Grand Final before I'm back in september. Aberdeen, I will do as you wish ... 8)

Fantassin, i'm happy to wait 'till you return to start, it'll allow continuity of play. I also agree that this scenario above all others appears to be balanced, although i prefer to play the allies.

Well, I just sent my first turn.

I'll keep some screenshots to eventually make an AAR.

And so it begins - to the victor the spoils.

I suppose there is a nice neat medal for winning. Hmm, shiny tin. We will probably have to wait for Rob to return from his HM to see it. In the meantime battle on!

Who's Maggie ? :o

There is a medal awarded to the Runner Up of a tournament (I think it's the Purple Heart). What does that means?

Yes the winner and runner up get the standard Tournament winners and runner up medals. They are the same for all Tournaments. Its only the tour of duty medals that change.

Why not? Rule number one during my vacations: no PC, no games, just books and sports. 8)

Aberdeen and I agreed to try making an AAR of this Grand Final. However, we don't know how to post images from our captured screenshots.
I remember your TAO3 tourney AAR. If people are interested, could it be possible you do something similar?
