PBEM GAME NAMES

Postby Robjess » Sun Jan 04, 2004 10:18 am

There are some restrictions in the number of characters that can be used for the name of PBEM games.

Might I recommend that you use the following name for your Tournament Games:

For Round 1 games:
TAORd1

For Round 2 games:
TAORd2

Etc..

Hey, should we give you our secret predictions of who the winner of the tournament will be in the next few days.

And the winner gets a prize?

Sure.. who do u think will win?

edit: Remember not all games need to be played to all 32 turns for a winner to be decided.. sometimes its pretty clear early on who is going to win and if both players agree - or if one of them resign - then the game is decided.

I really dont expect many games to go to the full 32 turns before it is decided..

Hmmm, good point about not running out the game to all 32 turns, I guess my question is how the hell do us newbies know when we're doing 'well' or when we're doing badly :)

I would expect in the early part of the scenario the germans to be ahead, and the allies to peg them back later on, question is what is the sort of lead the germans can get up before it starts to become impossible for the allies?

I'm just wondering at this point how well/badly I'm going. (Hey it took my opponent 3 turns to take St Vith... :D Pity he's doing better almost everywhere else  )

I believe that it is turn 5 and I having a blast of a time encircling all primary objectives. I'm one hex from Manhay, Bastogne surrounded... All allied units have a lot to do in the northern sector leaving the central and southern part of the map undefended... Oh, guess I forgot to mention that I somehow encircled most of the allied forces in the southern part of the map in the towns of Wiltz and Ettelbruck. 10th Arm is on the lose but they be very much alone until the 4th Arm shows up in about 4 turns time.

My fifth turn was really strange then it comes to one thing, I only made one attack and that at an stronghold. Everywhere else maximum movement forward. 8)

This message is prone to be edited as soon as something that I don’t like happens in my game.

if so, just by luck... I just discovered how nasty powerful interdiction can be this early in the game. :(

BTW: are towns like Bastogne etc. supply sources for the allied player or will they be out of supply after a couple of attacks?

Has everyone had at least one communication from their opponents.. in other words.. are we confident that everyone in the draws is playing? Has anyone not heard from their opponent or had difficulty in seeking any responses..
