Talos wrote:This may sound silly as I do not realy no enough about the editor, but could you actual do the reverse and make the SS the major and the ordinary Wermacht the minor? Would this get round the SS being able to draw supply from Wermacht units while the ordinary Werchmat cound not draw from the SS supply? But sill allow the different surrender possibilities. :?:

I don't know much about the editor either but I don't think that is possible. That would mimick the SS receiving priority over regular units.

Cannon Fodder

Postby PzB » Sun Mar 05, 2006 11:47 pm

Greetings,

I'd would like to give the tournament a go if you're still in need of more cannon fodder

Got a bit sentimental when I saw the medals..! Back in 96 I ran the SP ladder of the Generals Guilds Wargaming Club (any old members here?-) and organized SP tournaments. We issued medals just like yours for Ladder play as well as participating in or winning tournaments.

Been 'stuck' with War in the Pacific for the last few years, but I've got all the games in the Decisive series and been playing them both pbem and vs the AI every now and then!

Ok we look like we have our 32 players - but I would encourage a few more people to register as reserves in case we have some non starters - Vader you have registered to play yet you dont have the game yet.. I suggest you head over to Matrix and purchase it as this Tournament is ready to commence.. and you run the risk be being replaced by someone else if it starts and you are unable to play.

I'll be sending out the initial game files in the next day or so. I am waiting on the profiles from Robjess.

I've been through the Meuse scenario a couple times. I played against (not with) myself and I gave the US forces a sound thrashing.

I'll be interested to see how this plays out against someone else.

Anyone else played it through?

I'm currently playing a PBEM opponent as the Germans. We're on Turn 8 and I'm about to achieve an overwhelming victory. I don't think I'm that good so I believe it is biased towards the Germans. You can take Marche and Manhay on Turn 1.

Are you sure?!? Marche and Manhay on turn 1? I have not played, I've only looked at the scenario but I have to believe this is wrong.

You can take Marche and Manhay on turn 1 of the Meuse scenario 'cause your forces start adjacent to both. I assume he's talking about that scenario.

Yes he is talking about that scenario and its me he was playing. Not played as the germans yet but its definately hard as the allies. (Just about to start turn 1 as germans! 8) )

If the germans spread out their forces its difficult for the allies to push them back without leaving gaps in the line which allows the gerries to break through and take victory locations.

Having said that its always difficult the first time you play a new scenario as you don't have a great idea of the opposing forces and the start positions for each unit.

We shall see...
Never, ever.... ever again!
