MacArthur Master of Battle for Battles in Italy

Postby JSS » Sat Jun 04, 2005 10:09 am

MacArthur Master of Battle for BII is now available for free download in the Run5 Scenarios section.

This version of MacArthur takes advantage of the refined naval movement available in Battles in Italy, as well as, the new combat result tables for bad weather to be a real cliffhanger battle where the Japanese commander tries to hold on and hold out long enough to achieve victory. The American commander has superb forces available but must use them quickly and effectively.

The Axis AI does a respectable job of holding off the American forces (at least until you've figured out what needs to be done!). The American commander may need to capture all five key objectives to activate Battles in Italy's new instant win feature if the initials landings don't go off well!

Contested Landing Scenario

Postby JSS » Mon Jun 13, 2005 12:59 pm

Attached here is a preview copy of the alternate campaign for BII MacArthur battle.

In this scenario eight defending Japanese regiments arrive by airdrop... this allows the Japanese defender to place all units directly. An unlimited number of possible defenses can now await the American invasion force.

Extract the files to ...\Battles in Italy\Scenarios\MacArthur Master of Battle\Contested Landing\ You'll need to create the Contested Landing folder for the scenario files.

Please feel free to post comments and discussion in this thread.

Attached are the version 1.10 scenario files for BII MacArthur Master of Battle. The alternative scenario is also included. You must have the scenariopicts.xcr file from the version 1.00 scenario (available on the Run5 scenario download page).

Pressure, it makes diamonds and it makes dust. Do you sparkle in the sunshine or just blow away with the wind?

You have to download the full scenario from the download section. Files attached in this forum require the scenariopicts.xcr file that's in the full download to play the scenario (download has the most current version now).
