Can't allocate replacements in Omaha scenario.

Postby cerebus » Sat Jul 18, 2009 4:12 am

Firstly I'd like to say how much I'm enjoying the Decisive Battles games. I only discovered them late last year, started with KP and have just moved onto BiN. Great fun, and the buzz when you win your first scenario.....!

Now my query. I've just played Bloody Omaha as the Allies, and about half way through I noticed that I'd got some replacements - goody I thought, I'll need them. However I could not allocate them at all. I went round all my units yet not one would show the lit replacement button. Is this a bug? Am I missing something obvious (more than likely)? Any help gratefully received.

When your mulberry supply point becomes active on turn 9, you can use replacements.

Hmm. Can't say I've noticed it, but I was probably too busy sploshing through the marshes.

Thanks, I'll look out for it.

Hit "S" for supply

Green supply allows replacements and yellow supply does'nt

Sorry, but I cannot find anything indicating a Mulberry Harbour (what hex is it in, and do I have to do anything to activate it?).

Also my supplied hexes are always yellow in this scenario, I can't get them green - even if I park a unit on top of a supply truck, right next to a supply point.

I must be missing some vital point. :?

Port-en-bessin, hex 44,22, arrives TURN NINE as long as you OWN the hex.

Aha! I think thats sussed it. I've never actually held that hex for that long. I tended to hold a line just west of it and then push troops sw toward the objective (cant remember name), and the Axis troops grab it toward the end. I'll try hanging onto it next game and see what happens.

Thanks for your help Carl, much appreciated.

Yup, that works. Next time I'll check the hexes along the coast for info like that.

Yellow Supply

Postby critter » Tue Jul 21, 2009 4:53 am

Units at Utah stay in Yellow supply till a road is opened up that connects it to Omaha.
Thats why The objectives At Utah are.
1) Carentan
2) Cut the coast. Puts any Cherbourg defenders OOS dependant on their trucks
3) Drive on Cherbourg
Its very hard to keep the units at Utah in supply as you spread out. And they don't get replacements till the road is open.
