Wow!

Postby Strax » Tue Jun 09, 2009 9:53 pm

With all the D-Day celebrations in the news of late I finally decided to buy BiN.

It looks brilliant. I can't think why I waited so long to get it. Maybe it was the price. £50  for an old game is alot of money but a fool and his money are easily parted. I'm sure it will be worth it.

Noakesy has agreed to help me learn how to lose.

Look at the CRT

Look at Bocage hexes

Compare 7-1 with 9-1

2 attacks at 7-1 yeild better results than 1 attack at 9-1

The Carentan, the Cean and the Omaha beach scenaros are very good as a learning exercise before starting the main campaign

Oy, that's enough tips  :D. Given Strax has only just bought this I was trying to figure out other major differences (other than 'rookie' units don't surrender). It seemed there were a lot when BiI came out, but now I can't think of many at all.

I just bought BIN off ebay for 20 quid, not bad.

The AI seems more sharp compared to Korsun pocket.

Seems to me two 7-1 attacks should do better than a 9-1. Its better to attack twice in all the old engine games. Try getting any where in TAO by just making large attacks.
The flip side is the defender can more easily intradict all the units at the 7-1 site. Plus if the dreaded "1" shows up. Allot of attacker strenght is used up
