The strangest thing.

I'm presently playing 2 On to Paris games, both as Germans. Just watched one of the replays, and it is the replay of the other game. :?

Both are on the same number turn. In one I hold Carentan, and the other I do not. Something fishy going on here.

No signs of corruption as yet.

Any chance for an update soon? I know the AI is all not gone after turn 31. Later!

On to Paris v2.04

Postby JSS » Sun May 21, 2006 2:11 pm

Attached is the pre-release version of On to Paris v2.04. This will likely be the final version of OTP.

This update increases the chances of the Allied player. More VPs, air interdiction is more effective, German artillery is less mobile, and naval artillery capability is slightly increased (more interdictions and battleship range increased by one hex).

BIN On to Paris v3.00

Postby JSS » Thu Aug 03, 2006 3:13 am

Attached is v3.00. A significant number of changes put into place (enough to bounce to next version vice being 2.05).

v2.04 was deemed a little too strong for the Allied player (it is good for Axis human vs. computer AI).

Just a quick question - I only got this game last week and after wading through the excellent tutorials I've just started on my first scenario. I was going to download OTP (ready to use when I've figured out a bit about the game) but when I attempted to extract the files I was asked whether or not I wanted to replace existing files. Will downloading this affect the existing scenarios in any way?? Can somebody advise me please?

No files should be overwritten! ...If you overwrite any files, you're going to lose whatever scenario was overwritten.

This is an additional scenario for BIN. Should be extracted to:

Good job I stopped it then!!!! Not sure what I did wrong then - I browsed to the Battles In Normandy/Scenarios folder like it said! Do I have to set up a new folder within it or should this be done automatically?

Last Testing Version 3.0

Postby JSS » Sun May 11, 2008 9:23 am

Attached below are the final two testing versions of OTP 3.0...

The Aug07 version favors the Allies a small bit and the Mar08 version may favor the Axis a tiny bit. Both are made available for your use (make sure you extract them to distinctly identified folders if you want to have both installed at the same time).

I'll certainly download these, but I'm intrigued on which makes one more favourable for the axis/allies if you've 5mins to let us know? :D

Pretty much playtesting results with Talos. Around turn 50 the Germans are simply letting out (which is, of course, the designed result)... just a bit of an Allied advantage seems to be present.

Mar version tweaks the extreme German weaknesses (i.e. limiting potential gamey exploitation of the historical situation). So the key parts are tweaked VP/alert numbers, more bullets for the Germans, and a few more replacements.

Does he plan on tweaking OTM given Bru's new changes?

http://www.ssg.com.au/Run5/scenarios/OntoParis.htm

The last version is 3.0 but at the main SSG page it's the 2.03 patch who is given for download.

If you want to play OTP in PBEM and upgrade the game, the first idea is to go at the main page, not in the forum.

It would be better if the scenario download page could be updated.

Is the huge Axis point lead supposed to even itself out later on?
