Thought we would try and sneak this one through...
Here is a preview of what the new Zoom function will look like in the forthcoming 1.1 patch. The 'eye glass' is activated by pressing and holding down the ALT key. Whilst it is activated you can move it around the screen by using the mouse - it will work on all areas of the screen - not just the map. So you can effectively use it on the right hand unit selection panel. Using the mouse wheel will scroll the zoom level. The level shown here is close to the minimum zoom resolution, in other words you can zoom in closer then whats reflected in this screen shot.
Click on the image above, for a larger screen shot. Screen shot taken from the forthcoming Race to the Meuse scenario.
In other news, Roger reports that he is working on the new interface for Battles in Normandy. I have seen a preview of what it currently looks like, and I can report that is looks pretty damn good! It hasnt departed too much from the KP interface, but the right hand unit icon panel has been given a working over.
Its too early to throw any screen shots up yet though, as its probably subject to some modification. Once we get the go ahead from SSG though.... :)
Posted by Robjess at October 03, 2003 06:31 PMThis is a great concept. I am stunned by how seamlessly it (seems) to have been implemented. I think the community will find it a godsend.
I imagine it is not much more of a leap to have the whole battle map zoomed in or out to different levels at some stage? That would mean the strat map as it exists would be superflous and save valuable screenspace.
Man SSG must have some excellent think tank sessions on Fri nights ;) Sigh...
